BANK004 — Bank Formatting Guide

Last updated: October 7, 2026

Bank Formatting Overview

To support seamless international payments and maintain excellent customer service, Xtrm continuously enhances its multi-currency capabilities. This guide lists the bank details required to link a bank account and receive a transfer in each supported currency.

Please note that requirements may change periodically, including because of updates from local banking regulators and correspondent banks. For which transfer methods are available in each currency, see BANK007 — Xtrm currency list by transfer method.

Requirements for All Currencies

Every bank transfer needs the following details:

  1. Beneficiary bank full name and address (including the branch location will speed up the payment)

  2. SWIFT code and IBAN (strongly recommended)

  3. Beneficiary full name

  4. Beneficiary full address (PO boxes are not accepted)

  5. Beneficiary telephone number

  6. Beneficiary account number

  7. Specific purpose of payment

  8. Ordering party / remitter name and full address

Note: Your bank code is not the same as a SWIFT code.
If you have your IBAN (International Bank Account Number), you can identify your bank code using the IBAN calculator.

You can look up the bank code inside your IBAN HERE. For help identifying the right bank code for your country, see BANK002 — Understanding bank routing codes.

Formatting Tips

  • Enter numbers without spaces or dashes. For example, enter the UK sort code 60-30-30 as 603030.

  • The beneficiary name must match the name on the bank account exactly.

  • "Purpose of payment" should be specific, such as "Contractor payment for August services". A general word like "Payment" is not enough, and vague purposes are a common reason for returned transfers.

Canadian Dollar (CAD)

For Canadian bank accounts holding CAD, use the direct deposit / EFT information from your bank statement or a void cheque. You don't need a SWIFT/BIC code for CAD accounts.

Routing / bank code (9 digits)

Format: 0 + 3-digit institution number + 5-digit branch transit number. For example, institution 004 with transit 44401 becomes 000444401.

Account number

Enter the account number exactly as it appears on your statement or void cheque, without the institution or transit number in front of it. Lengths vary by bank:
